I am originally from South Carolina and grew up in a small town just south of Charlotte, North Carolina. I didn't travel too far from home for my undergraduate work, at the College of Charleston, or my Master's program, at the University of Georgia. But when it was time to spread my wings after that, I moved 1,031 miles away to College Station, Texas to work at Texas A&M University. 

After meeting my husband and deciding to stay in the College Station area to raise our family, I was looking for a new challenge and ended up in marketing and then sales for a custom apparel and promotional products distributor. I did that for almost 11 years but after a while, my heart wasn't in it. I needed something different. 

During one of our health insurance open enrollment periods, I started searching for different, better health insurance for myself and my family. Even with a 300+ person company, our premium costs were high and our deductibles higher. I discovered a private health insurance company with amazing benefits and was happy to switch over our coverage. When I started to get serious about finding something new, I noticed that the office of the agent who had so patiently and thoroughly walked me through my family's coverage was looking for additional agents. I thought it might be a way for me to get back to my roots in education and decided it would at least be worth a conversation. 

It ended up being worth so much more than that! Now I am focused on one mission: Help other people every day. I educate people about health insurance. I help people protect themselves, their families and their employees. Every day is another opportunity to help someone!
